Mid-Ohio Pipeline is on the forefront of spool-able fiber reinforced pipe installation. Relying on technology developed over the last 20 years, Mid-Ohio works closely with spool-able manufacturers to provide turn-key installations of this fantastic new product, which features a HDPE carrier pipe reinforced by a fiberglass epoxy laminate. The fiber reinforced pipe is inserted into corroded existing steel lines, using the existing steel line as a sleeve instead of a carrier. Although the inserted pipe is obviously of a smaller diameter than the previous carrier, there is typically no loss of carrying capacity because the fiberglass reinforced pipe can comfortably handle higher operating pressures. We have concentrated on natural gas and oil gathering, rehabilitating miles of mainline in rugged terrain across the Midwest. Our close working relationship with the manufacturers and engineers experienced in mainline insertion make it easy for owners looking to design-build a system to upgrade their network.
